The Surgery Now Patient Pathway

Getting the treatment you need in 12 steps

Step 1

Your GP will identify that there is a treatment needed.

Step 2

You will contact Surgery Now for to help with the process of getting your treatment abroad.

Step 3

We share your information with the consultant and request his feedback on the required treatement.

Step 4

If you need financing, we will help you make your application to the Credit Union.

Step 5

We will match your treatment to the appropriate surgeon in one of our partner hospitals.

Step 6

Your GP will arrange diagnostic tests, like ECG, blood tests, x-ray, MRI, etc. and provide the results to the hospital.

Step 7

We will liaise with the hospital to get your surgery dates arranged and send your files to them for review.

Step 8

We confirm your travel date and we arrange your transfers to and from the airport.

Step 9

You are now ready to travel. Once you arrive at the hospital you will have an out-patient appointment with your consultant the day before you receive your treatment.

Step 10

On discharge, you will receive paperwork and an aftercare plan. Included in the paperwork is your refund application form for the HSE. We will help you fill in the paperwork correctly in order for you to receive your refund in a timely manner.

Step 11

Once you have returned home, we will help you complete your application and you should have your refund between 10 to 12 weeks of applying.

Step 12

Surgery Now will help you with the management of your aftercare plan and we will liaise with your Consultant abroad and local GP as required. Your GP will receive a report from the hospital regarding the treatment you received so he/she can update your local medical records.
