Dr. A. David González Pérez

Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology

Dr. Angel David González Pérez, Graduate in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Navarra, specialising in Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology.

Specialist in Hand and Upper Limb Surgery, accredited by the Spanish Society of Hand Surgery (SECMA), DECIM Trainer, also accredited by the Spanish Shoulder and Elbow Society (SECHC). Specialist in arthroscopic and prosthetic surgery of the upper limb, as well as peripheral nerve pathology.

He has made many national stays, such as in Hospital La Paz (Madrid), Hospital La Fe (Valencia) or Hospital Clinic (Barcelona), as well as international stays such as in the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in New York (USA) or Kleinert Institute for Hand and Microsurgery in Louiseville, Kentucky (USA).

He has a PhD in Advanced Studies from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, as well as a Masters in Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology from CEU and a Masters in Health Management from UMH.

He is currently Head of the Hand and Upper Limb Unit at the University Hospital of Torrevieja and the IMED Elche Hospital, as well as at Adeslas Alicante.

Co-CEO and Co-founder of TraumaCare Clinic and COT TraumaCare Group. Member of several national and European medical societies, he has participated as an author in many scientific publications, and is a regular lecturer in many national and international Hand and Upper Limb Surgery courses.

Dr. Hugo Marquina Ferrer

Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology

Dr. Hugo Marquina Ferrer Orthopaedic surgeon and traumatologist with a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Valencia. He completed his specialisation in Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology at the University Hospital of Torrevieja and completed stays at reference centres in Spain and at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. 

He is a member of the Spanish Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (SECOT), the Valencian Society of Traumatology (SOTOCAV), the Spanish Knee Society (SEROD) and the Spanish Arthroscopy Association (AEA) and has participated in congresses and courses in his speciality. 

He is currently the head of the Knee Unit at the University Hospital of Torrevieja, as well as a tutor for residents. 

Co-CEO and co-founder of TraumaCare Clinic and COT TraumaCare Group. Specialist in Sports Medicine, mainly in Knee Pathology, focused on the rapid return to physical activity through minimally invasive surgery.

Pioneer in knee joint preservation surgery in the Valencian Community, and a benchmark in “fresh” allograft osteochondral transplants in the province of Alicante.

Dr. José Vicente Ferrer Valls

Bariatric Surgery

Expert in Laparoscopic Surgery of Morbid Obesity, who has been trained in the most experienced teams in Gastric Banding, Gastric Sleeve or Gastrectomy Tube, Gastric Plication and Gastric Bypass by laparoscopy in Europe.

He has carried out important teaching and research work in the fields of colon and rectal cancer, breast cancer, cell damage due to ischaemia and organ transplants in various centres of national and international prestige. He was the founder and coordinator of the Experimental School of Laparoscopic Surgery of the Navarra Health Service from 1993-1998.

  • Degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Valencia in 1987.
  • Degree of Doctor of Medicine with the qualification “Cum Laude” from the University of Valencia in 1989.
  • Specialist in General Surgery and Digestive System: He trained as a specialist at the Clínica Universitaria de Navarra and Hospital de Navarra.
  • Diploma of Expert Competence in Barbaric and Metabolic Surgery by the Spanish Society of Barbaric and Metabolic Surgery (SECO).
  • Chief Surgeon and Director of Clínica Obésitas since 2003.
  • Director and Editor-in-Chief of the Scientific Journal BMI-Jurnal (Iberoamerican Bariatric and Metabolic), journal of the Spanish Society of Obesity and Metabolic Surgery (SECO).
  • He has carried out important research and teaching work in the fields of molecular biology of colon and breast cancer, cell damage due to ischaemia and organ transplantation. He has spent time at major national and international hospitals and laboratories.
  • Founder and coordinator of the Experimental School of Laparoscopic Surgery of the Navarra Health Service from 1993-1998.
  • Research Coordinator of the Biomedical Research Unit of the Navarra Health Service from 1997-2000.

He has been trained in Laparoscopic Surgery of Morbid Obesity, among others with Dr. R. Weiner and Dr. Chevalier who represent in Frankfurt and Paris respectively, the most experienced teams in “Laparoscopic Gastric Banding”, “Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass” and “Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy” in Europe, as well as with Dr. Baltasar and Dr. Hernandez in Spain, among others. He has trained in the technique of “Laparoscopic Gastric Plication” with Dr. Martin Freid, Czech Republic, a world expert in this technique. He has trained with Dr. Sanchez-Pernaute and Antonio Torres, Hospital Clínico Universitario de Madrid.
