Irish clients have a new hospital that they can access through Surgery Now.

Surgery Now is the exclusive Irish partner for Imed international hospitals in Spain. There is even more good news this week as Imed announce the opening of another hospital in Spain. The new centre is focused on international patients, good news for both sports teams and organisations and of course our individual clients. Surgery now takes care of the logistics for our Irish clients and the international team of doctors, nurses, technicians and patient assistants offer the very best care in Europe.

IMED Hospitals are established in:

Murcia,

Torrevieja,

Elche,

Alicante,

Alcoy,

Benidorm,

Teulada,

Gandía

Valencia.

Our clients take full advantage of the 2.500 professionals who are part of the organisation.

The new centre in Villajoyosa has 14 medical consultations. For our sports organisations, they will be interested that it is equipped with full space for rehabilitation service, imaging diagnosis area, neurorehabilitation and physical therapy, including an indoor swimming pool.

Valencia FC, one of the top football clubs in the country has recently signed an agreement with Imed, who is now an official partner of the La Liga outfit. The agreement includes medical check-ups for players, collaboration with medical services of the club and diagnosis tests, hospitalization or medical services that the players may need. Valencia faces Real Betis in the Copa del Rey final, this Saturday 23 April.

Ángel Gómez Navarro, managing director of IMED Hospitals, is delighted with the agreement. This newly opened centre has an international medical team of doctors who speak English, Dutch, German and Norwegian. Among the professionals who are part of the “squad” is cardiologist Jeroen Braat; general doctors Anne-Marie Le Clercq and Gawein Remmerswaa; traumatologist Eric Campagnard; GP Thomas Hoffmann and urologist Pierre Le Houcq.

It is not just footballers who are using Imed. The Valencia Tennis Club took part in the “Medical advances in sports” recently. Pain management, recovery and injury prevention were all covered in the special conference as part of the BBVA Open City of Valencia.

Dr. Oscar Fabregat explained to the tennis coaches and mentors his view on how important medical checkups are for athletes in their developmental age. He feels this is the most suitable method to detect heart diseases and prevent sudden death. It is easy to understand the interest in the scheme by the multiple high-level sports federations.

Dr Cifrian spoke about the trends and pain treatment advances. Non-invasive techniques and accurate treatment are core in IMED centres because they make it easier for the athlete to have better recovery and involve less downtime, or risk of recurring injury for patients.

Integrative medicine, we were told, including diet and life habits, are key elements to optimise injury prevention. Surely this is vital for our younger athletes to understand and implement into their daily lives.

Irish clients have free access to the medical advances on offer in Spain through Imed and our collaboration with Surgery Now. We don’t just take care of sports injuries. In fact, any procedure that is open to Irish citizens through the HSE is covered by the European Cross Border directive. This is a truly wonderful service, with no downside, everyone wins.

The speed with which an injury or complaint is dealt with is vital to recovery. The HSE realise that there are major issues in the medical waiting list situation in Ireland. In order to get the best for the up to 1,000,000 Irish people on medical waiting lists, they work with Surgery now. This helps us to get the required treatment for patients, in some cases up to 4 years more quickly, by having the procedure completed in Spain.

If you are interested to find out how you can have the procedure done in Spain totally for free, funded and supported by the HSE, why not get in touch with Liam today?
